Review: The Redemption of Callie & Kayden

The Redemption of Callie & Kayden

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is good. Hey, i even cried a lot when i read it. But why 3 stars? Maybe bcause i don't really satisfied how the story turn from quite light in the first book and become so heavy in the 2nd book. I cannot bear the heavy issues this book bring. Maybe it's bcause me. Not bcause the story. Blame my recent mood anyway.

The story is really good enough and omg, the part i cried a lot, bawling like a baby was when finally Callie told her family about her tragedy. How her family respond to her story and after these a long time passed, hhhh, maybe bcause i didnt know what Callie's mother thought at that time except that it really something she would never get through. Knew her little daughter broke from still a little girl and, bcause she knew nothing at that time, and the story like a shocking bomb for her. Maybe for a mother it was really something that broke her. So, that reason only could make me cried. I think i always have this kind of reaction when the story tell about family.

In the first book I actually really interest with both of lead character, Callie and Kayden. They have different social status in school and the 'why they finally can become closer' make me want to read this book more. But, when the story turn about their own issue, hmm, i dont know, but they chemistry is not as good as before. And when the main conflict become more intense, mmm, i feel like the focus is change. In the first book, the center of story is both of them, but here, their issues become the center and the character more focus in themselves than to each other. Alright, i'm not actually true because the characters still and always think for each other. But, each character become more individual when it comes about their own problem, i feel like they separate at that time, like they hard to connect.

Anyway, this book is still a good read for you who like issue about abuse, something like that.
